El jinete Rodrigo Lizama es uno de los más queridos y mediáticos de Chile. De sus inicios en Punta Arenas, su lucha con el peso y sus sueños se desahogó con #Vamosalahipica:
«Pasé hambre porque quise y sabía que el peso era fundamental. Me independicé a los 14 años y siempre fui rebelde. Toda mi familia ejerció como jinete. Mi mamá nunca quiso, pero mientras más te lo prohiben, más te gusta. Me arrancaba del colegio para ver los trabajos. En Punta Arenas aprendí cómo se hace un jinete en valentía y amor por los caballos. La profesión de jockey en Chile es mal mirada, pero en otros países son los reyes del espectáculo. A algunos les cuesta el peso, pero a otros la ansiedad nos mata. Me costó controlarlo, pero gracias a Dios me ayudé con especialistas. Soy de contextura gruesa y me obliga a hacer mayor esfuerzo. Vacacioné en Estados Unidos porque necesitaba borrarme de la hípica. Gerardo Silva fue un profesor. Mis hijos están creciendo sanos. Que terminen sus estudios y si quieren ejercer esta profesión, que lo hagan. En Chile no hay una buena Escuela de Jinetes. Mi sueño es volver a Punta Arenas una vez que cuelgue la fusta» confesó a #Vamosalahipica.
